Years of my Youth.
A walk with God (:Archive for March, 2008
What a Saturday…
1 long taxi trip, 2 MRT rides, 6 bus rides, 16 hours out of Boarding School. Yea, that’s the day!
Parade
Being road marshal was boring before i started to memorize a Parenting Seminar form in hand, observe the plants around and practice dance 基本功. Well, actually i like the spot i was assigned to because it’s peaceful and glorious (with the sunshine).A good place for QT!
(:Yay, can finally make turns with Bikes!
Missed Fun-O-Rama :/
Fiesta!
Honestly speaking, the sense of belonging is getting faint. The force that draws me back can only be the people. Had a great time catching up with a few teachers with Ye Wei (The promise of giving Ms. Jacob a kiss was fulfilled.)
Spent some time with Chyi Fang too! Oh dear, she’s getting too thin and pale for her own good, which makes me quite concerned… Girl, PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF ALRIGHT?! Eat more!! Like seriously! ><
Raised quite some money for BB Month Week. Less than $100 more to go by 9 April!
Burnt $60 worth of coupons just like that. :/
Home
Mum wants me back at least once a week for housework because she feels displeased by the fact that i’m spend so much of her money w/o repaying her (through eg. menial work). Due to OT in SNG, i got to squeeze ironing sets of clothes, sweeping floor, arranging stuff, taking shower, dressing up, packing stuff within 45 min. Made it! Thank God!
Centrestage
Made it just IN time for the performances. The results were expected, but sign…
To me, the first was the best, not because the director is my friend, but because it has abiding substance and meaning.
It was sheer bliss to be bathed in the brilliance of fellow ACSians’ God given wits and talents.
Welfare.
Wow… the privilege to minister to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of Your children?
X) A time to play “Mother Hen”?
LORD, grant me Your Heart and Inspiration!
Wow, finally!
Praise God! Phew! Finally, the dreary clouds loomed above me for quite a while has been relatively cleared. Sunshine!! (X
Finally there’s peace within, a peace in the knowledge that God has always been faithfully taking charge. He will never fail to deliver us. He will accomplish His Cause!
Sign (of contentment, of relief), how redundant and foolish to worry on His behalf…
Ahh… the joy of being Yours. (;
Lord! Please continue to guide us, for we can only Need you and Depend on You more and more as we embark on this challenging journey. It may get onerous… i pray that You teach us how to seek You and draw strength from You, for You.
Yayness!
Cool! Justin (in fact Torsten & Han Jie too!) and Hou Yue got into the 3rd Student Council. (X
First prayer in class with Tim, Justin and Jing Yan! XDOther than that, i’m quite troubled with various issues. /:
God restores my joy!
Oh help!
This is not something i can live without, at least for these two years. God, i offer up this promise of faithfulness and loyalty… to stand my ground, to preserve this dwindling spark, and fan it into flame (knowing that only You are able to transform it into a forest fire) with my comrades.
my First Love, will you soften our hearts, connect our minds, and accomplish your will here as it is in Heaven through us?
It is all about You, and Your children!!
*******
Council Election today! Gave 12 positive (full) and 1 negative (out of 3) votes for guys. 4 positive and 2 negative votes (both full) for girls. Hope Justin and Hou Yue will get in!!!
Vision!
By the Grace of God, a Vision was shown to us through Samantha during our Morning prayer at the Balcony today.
It was a vision of a bowl somewhere in Heaven. The bowl contained some liquid. The ground miles and miles beneath the bowl was parched; it was dry and about to die. Then the bowl overflowed, the liquid reached the ground beneath… and the land revived.
Samantha, with divine wisdom, also interpreted this Vision. The liquid within the bowl was made up of tears, and every drop of tear was shed by compassionate Christians who longed to see His Glory. The plot of land beneath was ACS. Hence the drops of tears were of those who desired to see God’s manifested Glory in ACS.
The Glory of God will only come when His people sincerely and earnestly yearn for it; when we cry and wept out of desperation for Revival until there’s so much tears that the bowl overflows.
What God is looking for is DESPERATION.
Are we desperate enough for Revival?
~Oh LORD, i pray for the impartation of your passion for the lost into all our hearts. May our tears be numbered among those found within your bowl. God, please protect us from sins that make our hearts callous and cold, and break our hearts from what break yours!
End of Term One.
Wow, Term One has just ended. There are basically 3 main things to update:
1) Roommate!
2) Life Science Symposium!! (highlight of the week)
3) Term 1 Report!!
1. In my opinion, a great roommate embodies the following traits:
a) Considerate. (the basic requirement for peace)
b) Cheerful. (you don’t want to live with an emotional burden)
c) Caring. (like a bowl of steaming soup on a cold day)
d) Generous. (shares good stuffs like strawberries!)
e) Shares a common faith. (a source of comfort & encouragement)
f) A heavy sleeper. (she’s living with an insane owl)
Praise God! Nancy has all of the mentioned attributes and more! She finds joy in helping me do things such as going for roll call, taking supper etc. God has truly blessed me tremendously with such an ideal roommate!!!!!!! Thank You once again Father <3
2. Life Science Symposium on Monday was awesome! It was such a wonderful time for class bonding!! How extremely fun it was to take more hotdog buns than supposed to, to measure the percentage of our body fat (1/4 of my body are fats?!?!), to get my heart rate measured (a friend actually held my hand with both of his and proposed to me, in the hope of raising my heart beat. He failed HAHA), to get my blood pressure drawn on a map (i moved, so it looked like i had a heart attack. Mr Kishor saw the map and thought that i “saw a hot guy”.), and to play card games with the Year 3s.
3. i find the Term Report interesting. We’re graded under the categories of Understanding of Content, Behaviour During Lessons, Effort Shown, Completion of Assignment on Time, Responsiveness, Politeness and Practical Skills. Various points are given: 1 point is Very Good, 2 is Good, 3 is Satisfactory and 4 is Poor.
The subjects in which i attained all 1s are HL Econs, SL Chinese A2, SL Maths and PE. i need to be more responsive in HL Bio, hone my writing skills and show more effort in HL English and focus on SL Hist (currently my weakest subject). The marvelous comments give by Mr Kishor and Mdm Runima are extremely encouraging and constructive. Thank God for all my teachers!
A lot of academic work has to be done during the March break:
1) Complete Huck Finn (this is taking far too long…).
2) IOC on Robert Frost’s poem.

5) Complete the Chinese novel.
6) Complete the reflection on the novel etc.

10) Start to do some questions in the Bio SSG.
11) Send Class name list to Mr. Kishor.
12) Complete History Essay 1.

46) Housework.
47) Settle accounts with mum.
Oh my son… what do the number of tasks stated above imply? i have “sold my soul” to IBDP, BB and FireAC. Well it’s not that i’m getting elitist -spending time only in school and with ACSians. It’s just that my soul has been sold to ACS for these 2 years (maybe even more), and that i cannot afford a life elsewhere anymore.
Sign, with so much work to do, i can’t even attend Justin Ng’s 16 people strong campaign committee (i’m the Head of External Relations. Woohoo!) meeting tomorrow at Marina Square’s Swensen’s (goodness he’s treating all of us). :/
GOD! i NEED YOU!!!!!!!
ACS Day!
It has been a memorable day.
*God chose to shower pails of blessings upon all who were present on the Parade Ground this morning, especially members of the UYOs. The falling rain drenched us, the chilly wind aimed at our bones, the audible mockery of certain dude were hurled at us, but our marching standards were not compromised. i felt the rousing spirit of resilience and unity! And oh yes, as Jayne aptly put it, it was also “fun & wet”. (;
*Interacted with the toppers of the cohort after the March. The Y5 Primers’ club is also a den of crouching tigers and hidden dragons in the academic sense! We have the top IP boy, the first runner up, and almost all the Best in Subject Awards were secured by BB boys. Girls like Samantha and Petrina are also potential toppers with a whole lot of girl power. i’m inspired to uphold the excellent academic level of BB and glorify God with great grades with them.
*The Worship led by Mr Marc Ho was utterly heartening. i think he is anointed. (:
*Attended Bible Study – End Time Series right after Founder’s Day Cerebration. i pray that the urgency and fervency that i have gained will persist and bear fruits.
*i was supposed to study the history of USSR today, but i ended up studying the history of ACS(I). Oh no, oh no… but oh well, it’s ACS Day after all. (: i find the $25 bulky book our dear school made us buy engrossing. i was amazed at how ACS evolved from a less than mediocre school to a first-class institution she is today, was enthralled to read the illustrious profiles of the senior admins and student leaders, and was highly amused by the Lighter Moments section, especially the one from Huron Low (class of ‘04)…
Lord, thank You for the abundant portion of Gold. May Your Red wash over ACS, intensifying Blue.
